Are you interested in working at the Library?

If you have good communication skills, are able to work well in either a team environment or by yourself, are willing to adapt to changing needs and assignments, are able to work well under pressure and deadlines, can learn quickly, and are dependable, then the Vaughan Library is interested in you!

The Library usually interviews and hires towards the end of Winter term for positions that begin the next academic year. Occasionally, hiring is also conducted in late summer.

Access Services

Your main goal will be to provide excellent service to library patrons at the Access Desk. Hours of work vary depending on your course schedule and the library's open hours. Shifts may run anytime between 7:30 am and 1:30 am—evenings, weekends and holidays. We are looking for students with a public service attitude who are able to perform in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.

Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery

You will retrieve books from the library shelves and prepare them for shipment to other libraries.  You must be detail-oriented and accurate in your work.  Shifts are between 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday and you will work between 3-6 hours per week.

Application Procedure

The Library usually hires student assistants in March and April for positions that begin in the summer and/or the following academic year. Occasionally, hiring may also take place in the late summer.
