The Vaughan Library hires part-time student assistants in the following areas:
Your main goal will be to provide excellent service to library patrons at the Access Desk. Hours of work vary depending on your course schedule and the library’s open hours with shifts between 9:30 am and 1:30 am. We are looking for students with a public service attitude who are able to perform in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
You will retrieve books from the library shelves and prepare them for shipment to other libraries. You must be detail-oriented and accurate in your work. Shifts are between 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday and you will work between 4-6 hours per week.
You will be responsible for shelving library materials and keeping the library stacks in order. You must be able to handle work that is somewhat physically demanding and to pay close attention to detail. Shifts are available at various times throughout the day, including weekends.
You will label, mend, and shelve library materials as well as prepare library books for the bindery. This work requires someone who can pay close attention to detail. Shifts are usually between 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday and you will work between 6-10 hours per week
The Library usually hires student assistants in March and April for positions that begin in the summer and/or the next academic year. Occasionally, hiring is also conducted in the late summer.
