On microfilm, the Library holds many years of several major papers:
- Chronicle Herald (titles prior to 1959, Halifax Chronicle Herald and Halifax Herald)
- Globe and Mail (from 1965)
- New York Times (from 1908 to February 2007)
- Times (London) (1933 to 2000)
