National Network for Equitable Library Service (NNELS)

Novanet, a collective of post-secondary libraries of which Acadia’s Library is a part, has partnered with the National Network for Equitable Library Service (NNELS) to provide students with access to free, digital books in a variety of formats. If you have a print disability, you are eligible for this service.

How to sign up for NNELS

  1. To sign up for NNELS and gain access to books in a variety of formats, you visit the front desk of the Library or contact access-circ@acadiau.ca and self-identify as having a print disability. You will be registered in our system.
  2. Then, visit the registration page of the NNELS website: Search for your local library | National Network for Equitable Library Service (NNELS)
  3. Using the search bar, locate the Acadia Library. It will be listed as “Acadia University Library -- Vaughan Memorial Library”.
  4. Select the option to apply for an account.
  5. Fill out the required information and accept the Terms and Conditions of Use.
  6. Select the “I agree” option at the bottom of the page. Please note that copies of the titles you download may not be shared with others under copyright law. These materials are intended solely for individuals with print disabilities.
  7. NNELS will then connect with Novanet to verify your registration.
