Acadia Scholar Withdrawals and Modifications
Acadia Scholar is intended to be a permanent repository. Items may not normally be withdrawn from the repository. However, the Vaughan Memorial Library foresees times when it may be necessary to update or remove items from the repository. This can be done at the following levels:
Modifying item description. Errors in item metadata will be corrected by Vaughan Memorial Library Staff on request.
Modifying an Acadia Scholar item. Since any Acadia Scholar item that has existed at some time may have been cited in its original form, modifications are only permitted in the form of updated versions posted alongside the original documents.
Withdrawing an Acadia Scholar item. Items may not normally be withdrawn from the repository. Withdrawal requests are considered on a case-by-case basis by contacting the Vaughan Memorial Library at acadia-scholar@acadiau.ca and must include a justification for the request. Acceptable reasons for withdrawal include but are not limited to:
- Not relevant to the scope of the repository
- Proven copyright infringement, or plagiarism
- Legal requirements and proven violations
- National Security
- Falsified research
- Personal safety/privacy
Requests for withdrawal/embargo of theses and dissertations should be directed to the Office of Research, Innovation, and Graduate Studies.
