40th Anniversary Events
Celebration of Authors

2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
In conjunction with its 40th anniversary, the Library is pleased to present a Celebration of Authors.
Please join us for an afternoon panel where local authors will read and discuss their work. There will be an opportunity to speak with individual authors after their presentations. The Box of Delights will be on hand to sell titles, just in time for the holidays! Festive cookies and warm mulled cider will be served. All are welcome.
Authors include: Soren Bondrup-Nielsen, Heather Prycz, Jonathan Campbell, Wanda Campbell, Martine Jacquot and Benjamin Santamaria.

Wine & cheese reception to follow, all are welcome.
The CFUW will sell calendars for $14
each and two for $26.
A portion of the proceeds support graduate work for women.
The Box of Delights is also selling Herstory calendars.

In conjunction with its 40th anniversary, the Library and Gaspereau Press are pleased to present an evening with author Peter Sanger as he reads from his latest work, White Salt Mountain: Words in Time(2005).
A reception will follow the reading. All are welcome.

Celebrate International Womens Week
The Vaughan Memorial Library and the AUFA Status of Women Committee are pleased to present a brown bag lunch and viewing of the short documentary film: The Strength to Resist: Medias Impact on Women and Girls to kick off International Womens Week, March 5-11, 2006.

The Strength to Resist is a documentary about the fight against the toxic and degrading messages to women and girls that dominate the media. The film presents the leading authorities in the fields of psychology of women and girls, eating disorders, gender studies, violence against women, and media literacy -- and focuses their ideas on practical solutions and the best tactics for reclaiming our culture. This film features:: Carol Gilligan, Catherine Steiner-Adair, Gail Dines, Gloria Steinem, Amy Richards, Valerie Batts.
The event is in conjunction with the
Vaughan Memorial Librarys 40th Anniversary.
