Citation Help

This page provides information on the three most popular citation/referencing styles (APA, Chicago, MLA), along with a guide to help you download and use Zotero, a management creation software supported by the library, as well as tips and tricks to avoid plagiarism.

Additional information on other citation/referencing styles, Zotero, or plagiarism may be found on other guides or by asking your librarian or the Research Help Desk.

Interactive Tutorials

Our award-winning tutorials have been used, licensed, and adapted by educational institutions around the world. With the demise of Adobe Flash in December 2020, we are in the process of re-designing the tutorials to use common web technologies instead: HTML, CSS and Javascript.

The most popular tutorial—You Quote It, You Note It—was relaunched in October 2020. Try it now.

You Quote It, You Note It is also available on GitHub as open-source under Creative Commons By Attribution, Non-Commercial, Share Alike license terms. Institutions who wish to modify the tutorial for non-commercial research and educational purposes may do so.

Plagiarism Quiz

Attention faculty:

The You Quote It, You Note It! citation tutorial has a corresponding quiz about plagiarism which is available for you to deploy in Moodle (LMS). Our friends at LTID (Learning Technologies & Instructional Design) have provided the Moodle-zip file which contains quiz questions and instructions how to add the package to your course via Acorn Help.
