Borrow & Return

Your Acadia ID card is also your library card and needs to be produced when borrowing items.

Every book in the library has a unique call number. A call number is the address of the book on the shelf in the library.

You may notice that some of the books in our catalogue are held at different locations. You can place a hold on those items, and they will be delivered to Acadia for you to pick up. This is known as a Novanet Express item.

Should you find an item in a database or at another online source, you can request the item by completing an Interlibrary Loan form.

My Account

To check your library account, you will need to sign in to Novanet.

Renew Loans

To renew your loans, click on "My Library Account" at the top of any library web page. All of your account information will appear and you can renew items from this screen.

Holds

Is the book you need currently checked out? You can place a hold on it and we will recall it for you once the current borrower has had the use of the book for two weeks. As soon as the book has been returned to the library, we will hold it for up to one week at the Access Services desk and e-mail you to let you know it's there.

Staff members at the Access Desk can help you place a hold if you are having difficulties.
