Library Services during COVID-19

This guide includes information regarding off-campus access to resources, due dates and fines, interlibrary loans, research assistance, and tips for faculty.

Delivery of Physical Materials During Campus Closure

During the current campus closure, Acadia Library items can be sent out to all faculty, staff, and students by mail and a postage paid return label will be included. It is also possible for library staff to scan and email book chapters and journal articles in accordance with Canadian copyright legislation.

We are also offering contact-less pick-up of circulating materials: Borrowers can request items by sending an e-mail to with their 10-digit Acadia ID number (or their 14-digit barcode) and the item information (title, author, call #). Requested materials will be available for pick-up on the next business day between 9am and 3pm.

These services are free and are subject to staff availability and access to the building. Contact to place your request or visit the library policies for more information.

April 28, 2020

The Library building may be closed but we are still available online!

March 18, 2020

As of 5pm March 18, 2020 the Acadia Library is closed until further notice; however, we are providing service online.

The Acadia University Campus is closed to the general public. The main floor of library remains open today for Acadia Staff, Faculty and Students only.

March 17, 2020

Effective immediately, floors other than the main floor will be closed to everyone. Patrons wanting to retrieve materials from the stacks will be directed to visit the Access Desk.
