Contact your librarian as soon as you begin your course or program. It's important to get the basics down and get advice about your specific needs so that you can work effectively on your research. Just send a message to disted-library@acadiau.ca, indicating the course(s) you are taking and your research focus. The appropriate librarian will get back to you.

For each discipline you will find an online guide to help you identify important print and electronic resources. We realize that electronic resources are particularly important to students working from a distance because these permit immediate access to full text journal articles, ebooks and more. The Library Catalogue as well is a central resource for research because it provides an inventory of all the titles (both print and electronic) held by the Library. If you aren't sure about how the subject of your research relates to a discipline or which of the recommended resources would be best for you, be sure to ask your librarian.
