Acadia Ladies Seminary Basketball Team 1895
The girls on the basketball team pictured here were expected to maintain a “lady-like” appearance even when playing sport. The high necked sweaters and long skirts would make rapid movement and precise shot-making difficult. Evidently the girls enjoyed the activity and the Seminary had at least one team during 1895. Unfortunately, we do not know the names of the players or which teams they played.
