Pierian Cup for Women’s Basketball

The Pierian Cup was named after the society and newspaper of the same name at the Acadia Ladies Seminary. It was awarded to the winner of the basketball series between the Seminary and the Acadia women’s team. The cup was apparently donated by Dr Cutten, the president of Acadia University from 1910 to 1922 and Dr DeWolfe, the head of the Seminary. In 1914, the Seminary girls won the cup, winning the first game, losing the second and winning the third.
