High School Hoop Boys Have Mixed Success
The Wolfville High School basketball teams, both boys and girls, visited Halifax in late March 1939 for a series of exhibition games. While the girls had two defeats, the boys lost the first game 29 to 10 to the Halifax Academy team but won the second over the YMCA Juniors 33 to 24. In an earlier game against the Acadia University Theologs they were on the short end of a 22 to 16 score. However, they held their older, more experienced rivals to an 8 to 8 draw at the half and only gave way in the last part of the game.
