Ground Hockey Shows Promise

Ground hockey, or field hockey as it is known today, was introduced as a sport at Acadia in 1926. During the 1927-28 school year, the women played so-called “friendly,” or non-league, games with Dalhousie University (NS), since there was no intercollegiate league. “Of the two games played during the past season, Dalhousie won the first with a score of 2-1 and Acadia won the other, with a score of 4-0. With such a propitious beginning, we predict a great deal of success for the team in coming years.”
