Undefeated Wolfville Women Blank Sems

This Wolfville team played at least four games during the 1906 hockey season. They beat Hantsport 3 to 0, Windsor 2 to 0 and tied Windsor 0-0 in a return match. They also played the Acadia Ladies Seminary and defeated them 6 to 0. The April 1906 issue of the Seminary’s column, The Pierian, commented on their game: “The day of the match came at last. But the details of the game can be better imagined than described when it was announced that the score was Wolfville 6; Seminary 0. We congratulate our opponents.” Although they played for the town team, at least two of the women on the team took some classes at the Seminary. Gladys Harris studied piano and took first place in piano studies in 1906, while Emma Murray finished a four year art course with a May 1906 exhibition of her work.
