Garnet and Blue Keep Tri-Province Crown

In January 1947, Acadia opened its upgraded $30,000 artificial ice surface and started a new era in hockey at Acadia. It paid off, for the next season, “showing a great deal of power and polish both offensively and defensively...Acadia swept to their second consecutive Maritime Intercollegiate Ice Championship during the 48-49 puck season. It was the first time....that the Garnet and Blue won the tri-province diadem two years in a row.” Acadia also won the Valley League’s Senior title, but lost to Amherst for the Nova Scotia Senior title. Also on the team but not in photo are R. Crosby (d), J. Bateman (d).
