Thirty Year Drought Over

The 1933-34 hockey season was particularly noteworthy for Acadia and was the most successful season in several decades. They began the season by defeating the Wolfville team 5 to 2 . “Three of the goals were scored by Lloyd Shaw, who surprised everyone with his scoring ability.” The team won the Valley League for the third time in five years and were the Western Nova Scotia Senior Champions. However, “...by defeating St Francis Xavier and Dalhousie universities, Acadia won the Nova Scotia Intercollegiate Championship for the first time in 30 years. Laurence’s pass to Sanford, in the first overtime period, put the game on ice for Acadia.”
