Acadia Cops Valley Title

Acadia left their intercollegiate hockey league during the 1928-29 season and played in the Valley League along with town teams from Wolfville, Kentville and Windsor. In a game with the Kentville Commercials, they faced “Wallace Barteaux, a former Acadia captain” and star who scored both Kentville goals in a 5 to 2 loss. After nine games, Acadia University was top of the league. “We’ve copped the Valley League title....It is certainly good to be winning leagues again–at least everyone thought so when [Acadia President] Dr Patterson declared the holiday.” In play-offs for the Nova Scotia championship, Acadia lost a two game total point series to Digby 6 to 5.
