Uncertain Start to Season

Uncertainty greeted the start of the 1914 rugby season–only seven members of the undefeated 1913 squad were on hand. Coach Charles Chipman and Captain George Atkins worked to create a team that would continue Acadia’s winning tradition. Acadia began the season by beating Kings College (NS) 19 to 0 in a non-league match. Mt Allison University (NB) visited Wolfville on 22 October 1914 to begin the hunt for the Clark trophy. While Acadia beat Mt Allison 14 to 5, they were beaten 25 to 3 by the University of New Brunswick and failed to win the newly introduced Clark trophy.
