Moland Leads Horton to Victory

Competing against men older than themselves from the class teams at Acadia University, the Horton Collegiate team won the inter-class track and field meet in 1907. They grabbed the trophy by winning 53 points. Individually, Moland won the 100 and 220 yard dashes as well as the quarter-mile and half-mile, while Allen won the broad jump and McLeod the pole vault. Horton’s Lyceum column in the June 1907 Athenaeum was able to boast: “Our team has won the majority of our meets.”
