Moland Clinches Acadia Victory

On 28 May 1909 Acadia won the Intercollegiate Track meet and received the Maritime Intercollegiate Track Trophy for the fourth time. Among the wins for Acadia athletes were “the mile in 4m 57sec, the 440 yd dash in 55sec, the 100 yd dash in 10:45 sec, and the running broad jump at 20' 11 ½"....the result was much in doubt until the last event when Moland clinched the meet for Acadia by his splendid performance in the mile.” The 1910 Acadia team were to win the cup again and thus allow Acadia to keep permanent possession of the trophy.
