hockey
back row: C.L. Moore (left wing), T.K. Stackhouse (rover), C.W. Webster (bus mgr), E.C. D’Almaine (point), W.A. Allen (centre point);
front row: H.A. Gibson (left wing), R.N. Armstrong (goal), A.McN. Parker (centre, capt).

Season Shortened by Scarlet Fever

V.I. Henshaw, right wing, was also on the team. On January 22, the Academy lost to the Freshmen 4 to 3 in inter-class competition. “The ice was good and the game fast and very interesting. The penalty box was utilized to a great extent, sometimes its capacity being overtaxed. The teams were evenly matched and the score was uncertain for either side. The splendid work of Moore and Parker in combination was noticeable.” In February they played Halifax County Academy and won, 2 to 0; “although the ice in the Arena was poor, the game was the fastest by the Academy this year. Stackhouse, Moore and Allen played a star game. Both goals were scored by Stackhouse.” An outbreak of scarlet fever forced the school to close for a time, hockey season incomplete.
